Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during dental procedures- Take and record patients’ vital signs- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care- Take and develop dental x-rays- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office’s appointment calendar Qualifications:- Dental assisting certification or relevant experience- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology- Proficient in medical documentation and record keeping- Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental practice management software- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus- Understanding of medical coding for dental procedures- Strong patient assessment skills As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the dentist and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. Your responsibilities will include assisting during procedures, taking vital signs, sterilizing equipment, educating patients, and maintaining accurate records. To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of dental anatomy, be proficient in medical documentation, and possess strong patient assessment skills. Certification as a dental assistant in the state of Texas is mandatory. Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental practice management software is a plus.
