Seeking a full Time or Part-Time Dental Hygienist for our large multi-specialty practice in Joliet Illinois. Our Hygienists perform high quality and efficient dental hygiene procedures including patient screening, maintaining medical history information and periodontal charting. Perform routine examination of head, neck and oral cavity for disease, probe, hand scale, and polish teeth. Record information in patient record. Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with patients. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review patient’s charts for the day. Provide hygiene care to patients, including recording all findings and reporting any concerns to Periodontist. Administer local anesthetic when necessary. Take full-mouth radiographs of patients at required periodic intervals. Instruct and/or provide patients with any necessary tools for home care. Refer patient to our Periodontist for evaluation if deemed necessary. Review future schedules and make recommendations to Front Desk Staff to fill open appointment times. Contact patients to offer open appointment times. Ensure that patients have future recall appointments scheduled. Send periodic periodontal progress report to DDS. Perform suture removals. Return calls from patients and general dentists in a timely fashion. Attend seminars. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be certified dental hygienist from accredited school. Local anesthetic certification and previous periodontal skills preferred. Must have basic computer skills. Travel to satellite offices is required.
