Job Requisition ID: R00038323 Job Category: Allied Health Organization: SOD-Ambulatory Operations Manager-DA Location/s: Main Campus Jackson Job Title: Dental Dispensary Assistant – SOD-Periodontology Job Summary: To perform a variety of services involved in the cleaning, sterilization, processing, organizing, and distribution of dental equipment, instruments, supplies, and products used in the care and treatment of patients. Education & Experience High School Diploma/GED required and one (1) year of related experience preferred. Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of equipment and instrument sterilization methods and procedures Knowledge of basic dental terminology Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and superiors Ability to comply with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and/or infection control practices Ability to lift heavy objects and work in/around heat, humidity, and noise Ability to maintain inventory controls and supply levels Responsibilities Cleans, disinfects, packages, and sterilizes dental and surgical instruments in accordance with regulatory and hospital policies and procedures. Orders and dispenses dental instruments, equipment, materials, and supplies to dental students and faculty. Sets up sterile instrument trays for surgical procedures. Operates cleaners and sterilizers. Maintains inventory levels and records. Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and/or infection control practices. Promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
